and so a new week begins ...
and the 'recycled' version of threads of faith -
formally from xanga,
independently speaking, lol, continues on!
i hope everyone enjoyed a blessed and happy independence day
and weekend that followed!
the 4th here was gray, with occasional sprinkles ...
hubby and ian worked a long day together,
and neither one of them were up to doing much at all ... ian went home,
and we decided to go out for bite at our favorite mexican restaurant,
then had a mint chocolate chip ice cream cone (stopping at one dip each),
then a quick stop in at kohl's department store to look at their shoes,
took a short drive and noticed that the the sky was clearing revealing a beautiful sunset,
then we headed home ... exciting huh?! lol!
i didn't mind at all ... we did see some off in the distance,
and heard quite a few once we got home.
the cats were a bit jumpy, too ...
seems there were more in the neighborhood this year than usual.
thought i'd share some photos with you from a sunnier day,
along with 'old glory' ... long may she wave!

Blessed is the nation
whose God is the Lord,
the people He chooses for His inheritance.

what really unites this great land
is more than a flag -
it's an idea.
the idea that all people under heaven
are the idea of a GREAT God.

it really was one of those days you could only hope would last forever!
seems she was a bit timid to jump in ... but, eventually she did!
these two were an inseparable 'couple',
and two of the friendliest little ducks ever!
still trying to figure out names for these guys.
the rest of the weekend was nice, although a bit muggy.
saturday: house and yard work,
sunday: a phenomenal service at church,
then dinner out with ian and nicole
a visit to goodwill, a drive in the country,
then home to relax.
would love to hear about your weekend, too, until then,
i hope you all have a wonderful week!
i can't wait to see more of my xanga friends dropping in here ...
i'm thinking i should either post this over on xanga,
or leave a link to send them over this way, again! :)
it's lonely over here!
i know most are still posting on xanga till the very end ...
and then maybe moving to wordpress,
that is, if it all works out with the fund raiser!
*here's the link if you want to follow the total raised:

all other info about xanga is found at the bottom of the linked page, too.
just hope this 'change' doesn't take too long!
blessings and love to you all!

Hi, finally got all posts moved over and photos. Am subscribing to you here and will check you out on Wordpress. Hope you come and subscribe on Wordpress, I have it so you can put in an email address and get an email when I post. Hoping you had a great independence day. Love your photos.
ReplyDeleteHeather
that is great, heather! i will be over to visit and subscribe from here, too! and thank you for subscribing to me here, as well ... haven't done much, as of yet on wordpress, but i will keep it up and running in case xanga does raise those funds to transfer! i read that the deadline is extended over there, too ... now they are keeping it open until the 31st of july! gives me a little more time to find reconnect with more of my friends. we did have a nice independence day ... quiet, but nice! hope you did, too! so glad you liked the photos, too! :)
DeleteBTW, Tried to subscribe by email and it says that that is not working.
ReplyDeleteHeather
hmmm, did you put your email address in the box? i tried it out by following myself, lol, and it seemed to work okay ... there was an 'email subscription box' that popped up to confirm it, too. try again and let me know if it works for you. could just be a glitch of some sort. oh, you can also copy my home page url from the address bar and then add it into your wordpress 'reader' ... there i believe you'll also see when i post, too. that's one thing i really like about wordpress ... the 'reader'!! hope that helps! :)
Deletelove that shot of the flag!! so pretty.
ReplyDeletei went home for the 4th with my kiddos..
last year i stayed in canada and i hated it.
of all the holidays i just want to be in the u.s. when it comes to the 4th. :))
it rained there too though - but we still made the most of it and enjoyed some fireworks from the back of the van.
that pair of ducks are cute. the shot of her thinking of going in is usually how i approach water too - not always sure. haha!
i know once xanga moves and everyone settles i think ppl will find each other again.. it is hard right now keeping track of where everyone is. i'm trying to put all the addresses together on Feedly. and summer is just a busy time too - blogging always seems to die down a bit in these months.
happy weekend!!! xo
hello, sweet amber, and thank you for your sweet comment! so happy to see you here, even in these 'slow summer months'! and yes, there/s no place like being in the good ol' u.s. on the 4th, is there!! it has always been a memorable day for us, but, i'm sure canada has some special days, too ... always wanted to visit 'up north'!
Deletei'm looking forward to finding more of my friends here on xanga, too ... and i'm very glad to see that you found me here, too! i haven't checked to see how the fundraiser is going, lately. i'll have to do that soon since the 31st is coming soon! it will be sad to see it leave the format we've all come to know and love ... but, change can be a good thing! blessings to you, my friend!
